The Space Cadet Hat. My interpretation of a classic Cadet Hat. An easily customizable project, and the perfect way to use up those small fabric pieces that aren’t enough to make clothing. This is a quick, technical, yet satisfying sew that I’m confident anyone with a little patience can complete. I go over every single step, from paper to finished product, on YouTube, and show how to do the tie closure, as well as a more traditional hat closure. I also go over two different ways of constructing the crown of the hat, to fit the user best. I’ve been wearing these hats all the time, and I can guarantee you will enjoy the finished product.
MATERIALS NECESSARY:
About ½ yard or ½ meter of fabric(this is an estimation based off the width of woven fabric). I also used scraps multiple times to make one of these hats(it uses very little fabric compared to clothing).
A brim insert: you can choose to purchase the brim inserts I bought, steal it from another hat, or even use cardboard. I recommend using a plastic brim to get that desired structure, but regardless of what you use, I show how to pattern the brim piece for any shape or size brim in the video tutorial.
SIZING:
One size fits most, if not all. It is adjustable, and there are two ways to sew it, one allowing for more room/give if desired.

Super clean and easy tutorial, looks incredibly great when sewn and really beginner freindly tutorial. Wouldn't hesitate if i were you. Super great investment.
10/10 pattern from cutting out to the instructions on YouTube I wouldn’t say this pattern is for the average Joe but if you have some experience definitely a really fun one, and great to expand out from your traditional bucket hats that everyone already sews.
Also the price is unbelievable, 12$ is way too cheap in my opinion. Also only thing I’d suggest or critique is added if the seam allowance to the patterns, just easier to remember for the user.
Thank you Wynn<3
